I Know What Girls Like.....

I've decided to compose a short TOP 5 list of all things liked by THE GIRLS... follow me now !

1) MAXWELL: This man, this man, this man !!! I may officially be a Maxwell Stan. I was one of the many who waited over an hour and a half for him to take the stage at The Essence Music Festival. I was also one of the many who came out to CBS Plaza three days later to see him perform for the Early Show with SUNSHINE GIRL and CALI GIRL. I will also be one of the many to see his performance in Connecticut in two weeks with my new guy friend. His new CD from the first note, though short in track listings, immediately took me back to the love I have for his melodic and soothing sound. THE GIRLS love his music, his style and LAWD HAVE MUURRCCAAY...that smile !!!


2) COCKTAILS: Did somebody say Happy Hour ? Is PARTY GIRL's marketing company sponsoring another open bar event ? Is it Cinco De Mayo, Juneteenth or one of THE GIRLS birthday ? WE DON'T NEED AN EXCUSE !! The mere mention of going out for drinks immediately sparks a favorable response. And don't let it be a corporate sponsored reception, party, concert, etc. with an open bar. YOU CAN FORGET IT !!!








3) NEW YORK BOUTIQUES AND SAMPLE SALES: Now, I'm not much of a shopper. I literally only shop for clothing about two to three times a year out of necessity. WHATSONEVAH, some of THE GIRLS are, word to Kanye, "single black females addicted to retail and well". One thing I have noticed about my GIRLS is they love hard to find pieces that are generally housed in one of a kind boutiques in the New York area. FASHIONISTA GIRL even produced a highly successful fashion event entitled, "Harlem's Fashion Row" which debuted alot of fashions housed in boutiques here in Harlem. I recently became HIGHLY envious of SUNSHINE GIRL's new Dolce & Gabbana finds at a sample sale. Good thing we wear the same size in shoes :)




4) MEN: Short men, tall men, geeky men, thugs, employed men, cute men, he's cute in his own way men, THE GIRLS love them some men. Most times when we are debating where to head for HAPPY HOUR, the first question is, "Will men be there ?". Dating in New York City is a damn sport. You can literally go on a date every night of the week if you so choose and you have a plethora of men to choose from. Bankers, Lawyers, Doctors, Musicians, Politicians, Dope Boys, Promoters, Marketing Executives....wooooo they are everywhere. However, as I stated in a previous post, we are attempting to make better decisions in the men we choose to date. Hmmmmmmm, but until then, "Yes, I am free for drinks on Saturday Night" Cause we like himmmmmm, and we like him tooooo....



I saved the most important for last....



5) The LORD: I know its hard to believe this. You know, based upon the tomfoolery that I share about THE GIRLS. One thing holds supreme though, and has not wavered during our tenure in New York. THE GIRLS LOVE THE LORD !! Six of THE GIRLS attend the same church in Harlem, while about three other GIRLS choose to worship at another church in Harlem as well. I can honestly say that God led us all together, at this divinely appointed time and faith and love have kept us close as girlfriends. We pray for each other, we worship together and we attend Bible Study together. I know for a fact that I would not have been in the company of these wonderful women if it were not for God and his amazing timing !
